Wilkesboro is the
epicenter of Western North Carolina
activities. The Wilkes
Heritage Museum, located in the Old
Courthouse, is within walking distance
of our Bed and Breakfast. The Museum
celebrates the Heritage of Wilkes County
through a collection of artifacts,
images, and numerous stories. The Museum
was also recently added to the Blue
Ridge Music Hall of Fame in recognition
of their contribution to the music
associated with traditions of
the Blue Ridge.
Within a
few minutes drive,
horseback riding,
NC hiking, whitewater rafting, and
motorcycle ride
opportunities are abundant. Wilkesboro
NC
is also near the High Country, known for
its multiple ski resorts. Motorcyclists
are drawn to the area for the
breathtaking scenic drives and beautiful
Mountain Ridges. In fact, Wilkesboro is
appropriately nicknamed, “Key to the
Blue Ridge,” due to its proximity and
easy access to the
Blue Ridge Mountains.
Friendship Sporting Clays, home to
the East Bend Hunter Safety team, offers
an outstanding terrain for shooting. It
is open to the public and offers
corporate events.
